Blue Delphinium

Blue Delphinium are subtly beautiful and feature uniquely shaped flowers that provide the flower with its namesake.

These lovely flowers make an elegant, heartfelt addition to any bouquet.

There are over 300 species of Delphinium flowers, all originating in the northern hemisphere. Delphinium grows in lavender, blue, pink, purple, red, and white shades.

These gorgeously dense flowers are called Larkspur, Knight’s Spur, Lark’s Heel, or Lark’s Claw. Each stem of Delphinium features 8-20 inches of spike-shaped flower clusters.

Other varieties will have disc-shaped, trumpet-shaped, or dolphin-shaped flowers. Their name comes from the dolphin-shaped variety---the Greek word for dolphin is delphis.

You can find Delphinium growing in meadows and valleys in the United States and Europe. Blue Delphiniums are most often used to represent dignity and grace.
